At CORE InSites, we believe the roadmap for creating a successful workplace begins with understanding culture.
But what is culture? And how do you use it to increase productivity and profits, build employee morale and create a meaningful workplace? That’s where the There Is No Place Like Work Program can help. Based on years of research and experience, this innovative and powerful program shows leaders how to define and leverage their CORE Culture uniting their employees around a small, compelling set of principles that elicit extraordinary levels of dedication and commitment. The bottom line is increased profits.
CORE Culture is the central force that unlocks these possibilities and generates boundless success. Learning how to use CORE Culture to achieve that success begins with understanding its elements.
CORE InSites Model
The central components of CORE Culture are your organization’s Purpose and Philosophy.
Purpose is the fundamental reason why your organization exists. It is the cause that provides inspiration, defines contribution and motivates constructive action.
Philosophy is the prime value of the organization that members believe is fundamental, enduring and distinctive.
Together, the unique blend of Purpose and Philosophy constitute your organization’s defining and distinguishing attributes. This timeless identity is the essence of the culture and the basis for all aspects of your business.
CORE Culture includes a third component—Priorities—the key supporting values that are important to all facets of your business. Priorities provide the standards that guide the way you put the Purpose and the Philosophy into practice. Although they are relatively stable, you can change Priorities to enhance your organization’s competitiveness.
When woven together, the three elements of CORE Culture—the Purpose, the Philosophy and the Priorities—define the nature and uniqueness of your organization. They are fundamental to your business and the basis for its culture. This CORE serves as a vital, stabilizing internal compass that guides the work of your organization’s members.
The CORE InSites Model (illustrated above) shows the relationship and connection among CORE Culture, strategy and organizational Practices and Projections.
Organizational strategy is represented by the Vision and Strategic Goals which guide daily activities to promote the success you envision.
Internal Practices, such as your company’s structure and work design, employee selection, training and development, performance management and internal communications, must be consistent with the CORE Culture and support the Vision and Strategic Goals.
External Practices, such as your customers, products, services and suppliers and vendors must be in line with the CORE Culture and support your Vision and Strategic Goals.
Projections are the many ways that a company reflects its image to the public such as company name, corporate headquarters, image of leader, marketing/PR/advertising, employee dress/uniforms, office & stores, logo & corporate symbols and community activities. Projections must similarly be aligned both culturally and strategically.
To galvanize your organization and promote employee dedication, stay focused on your strategy and infuse your CORE Culture into every aspect of your organization.
There Is No Place Like Work is an easy-to-understand guide to achieving success through workplace culture.
